Codec UK were delighted to celebrate International Women’s day 2019, #IWD2019, on the morning of Friday 8th March in Victoria Square Belfast.
The theme of this years International Women’s Day was #Balanceforbetter. Everyone has a part to play in building an exciting future in a gender balanced world. This balance drives a better working world.
Alongside the wider Codec UK Belfast team, Michaela, Cara, Pamela and Catriona (pictured) were there to represent a third of the Codec UK workforce in marking this significant day and highlighted the continued desire and commitment of the management of Codec to recognise the contribution that its female staff have made towards the growth of the organisation in Belfast and London.
The breakfast was only one of the events held to mark the occasion – employees in our Dublin, Galway and Polish offices also marked the day with their own events.
International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 every year. It is a focal point in the movement for women’s rights. After the Socialist Party of America organized a Women’s Day on February 28, 1909, in New York, the 1910 International Socialist Woman’s Conference suggested a Women’s Day be held annually.
