Codec Win Award with Queens University at Belfast Telegraph IT Awards

Codec are delighted to announce we have won an award in the “Covid Response Category” for the work done at Queens University Belfast at the recent Belfast Telegraph IT Awards 2021 hosted in the MAC, Belfast.

This award recognises “a company which has demonstrated innovation and resilience in response to the Covid-19 pandemic either through the deployment of an internal IT strategy or the delivery of a bespoke IT solution for a client” .

Codec, working in partnership with Queens University delivered solutions including an online portal for Covid-19 campus contact tracing.  In addition, Codec supported the implementation of Azure Windows Virtual Desktop which facilitated remote access to learning for over 1,500 users. Students could use any device to access the full processing power of the university’s systems remotely.

The judges said: “Codec demonstrated speed, technical ability and team working to react very successfully to the needs of their client, Queens University to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 among staff, students and visitors to the University. “Partnership and collaboration were the key elements of success in this project.”

After 2 long years, it was great to finally be back to in-person events and the award ceremony, hosted by Neil Delamare on the night was a great success in honoring those in the tech sector for their hard work and innovation shown.

Codec would like to give special mention to Christina Matier, Senior Business Analyst with Codec Belfast for the fabulous achievement of being shortlisted in the “IT Woman of the Year Category“.

We also extend our congratulations to all the winners on the night but in particular, to Randox Laboratories who picked up the “IT Digital Project of the Year” as sponsored by Codec.

We look forward already to next years event!
